Tonight while watching The Universe on the History Channel ‘Death Stars’ there was presented a scenario that a rogue star’s gravitation could dislodge the Earth from its orbit around the sun.
The thought then occurred to me – could the earth, without its source of energy from the sun self-generate enough energy to sustain life? Why Not?
We would need to generate energy to heat our surroundings. We would never be able to live above ground. Instead we’d use the planet to insulate our civilizations as we live in tunnels and underground cities.
How else could we survive with a limited exposure to solar heat and radiation?
