Why Should I Care

Recent reports in media news speak of rice shortages in United States grocery stores. There is talk of nuclear power plants being built in Syria by North Koreans and destroyed by Israel. China blames Tibet of starting revolts before the Olympics.
Two questions arise: 1) Why should I care? 2) Is it accurate?
Most people have their favorite news outlet(s) typically catered to support their own ideas. Media empires seek constant attention in order to have business in news. These in turn focus on emotion invoking situations catered to a population. Objectivity then becomes a secondary goal after shock and awe. In such a situation the accuracy of such accounts become tainted causing the inquiring  individual to ask why shoud I care.
Apathy . . . natures salve for an overstimulated world.
