We visited the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington DC today. It was to fulfill a requirement for the boys Cub Scouts awards. As we drove into DC we drove through highways surrounded by trees changing color. I have rediscovered how much I love the colors of the changing trees. I have gotten better in identifying some of the trees and find that my favorite is a scarlet red maple. Theirs colors now are such deep dark red. This is the first year the tree I planted two winters ago has yielded such intense foliage.
